"Persephone's Return" is an Art Nouveau inspired portrait of the goddess mid-ascent, cradling a pomegranate with pupil-less, otherworldly eyes and a small, knowing smile. Crocus blooms crown her hair, a death's head moth tattoo graces her shoulder, and gilded botanical scrollwork frames her on all sides. Tits and tattoos, divine and completely intentional. The radiant pink and rose background pulls warmth across the whole surface like the first light of spring breaking through.
This is an original hand-burned and painted piece on a pine wood canvas. The fine pyrography linework in the hair, background rays, and decorative scrolls creates a permanent tactile depth that watercolor alone could never achieve.
